Hosting

This website is hosted by STRATO AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. When pages are accessed, the server automatically stores technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser) in log files. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is the secure operation of the website.

Cookies

We do not set any cookies for normal visitors. A technically necessary session cookie is only set when you log in or submit the contact form; it is deleted when you close your browser. No analytics or advertising services are used. Third-party content is only loaded by the travel map, and only after you have consented (see below).

Travel map (OpenStreetMap)

On the “Travel map” page we show our trips on a map from OpenStreetMap. The map is only loaded when you click “Load map”. Your browser then retrieves map tiles from the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation (OSMF), St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom, transmitting your IP address and technical information about your browser. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time for the future by no longer loading the map. The EU Commission has issued an adequacy decision for the United Kingdom. Further information: https://osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy

If you tick “Always load the map directly in future”, this choice is stored in your browser’s storage (localStorage) and is not transmitted to us. You can delete it by clearing the site data in your browser.

Contact form

If you write to us using the contact form, we store your name, your email address and your message in order to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
