AIDA Mediterranean 2013
In March 2013 we were back on AIDAmar for the western Mediterranean: Tunisia, Palermo's Capuchin catacombs, Naples, Rome the day after the papal election – and a big storm.

On our last AIDA tour we had said: "We'll be back!"
And the opportunity came sooner than expected. We had a week off in March, and as the weather in Germany (snow and sub-zero temperatures) didn't exactly invite travel, we promptly booked the "Western Mediterranean" tour.
On 9 March we flew from Hamburg to Palma de Mallorca, where AIDAmar was already waiting for us.
As we already knew the check-in procedure, we could board in a completely relaxed way. We didn't have to worry about anything at the airport or the ship, as we had booked the travel package through AIDA. We can only recommend it: the rail-to-flight ticket is included, and scouts and buses are ready at the destination airport to show you the way. Luggage is brought from the bus straight to the cabin by AIDA staff. Simply great – the holiday starts with the journey :-)
At 10 p.m. sharp the ship left Palma and headed for La Goulette in Tunisia. If you want to meet people, that's no problem on such trips: on the second evening we already got to know Uschi and Rainer (motorhome owners too). On 10 March we had a wonderful sea day and could enjoy the calm sea and sunshine at 20 degrees.
Arrival in Tunisia on Monday morning at 6 a.m. Petra and I didn't want to leave the ship in Tunisia, as the country doesn't really appeal to us. As we entered port, we were given a great welcome.
Every AIDA ship has its own unique evening show. On AIDAmar it's the show "Kauri", which had already fascinated us on our first tour in January.
Kauri was performed on Monday evening, and long before the start the best seats in the Theatrium were taken. We still found a great spot and could enjoy the show to the full.
