For my wife's special birthday we took our first AIDA cruise: the Red Sea on AIDAmar, with Petra in Jordan (in snow!), Eilat, Safaga, Cairo and the pyramids.

For my wife's special milestone birthday, we went on a trip that is anything but everyday. A cruise with AIDA had long been on our list, so we promptly booked the "Red Sea" route on AIDAmar.
The one-week cruise began on a Sunday in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt). As we had booked the whole trip including flights through AIDA, everything was taken care of: pick-up at the airport and transfer to the ship by AIDA. After a welcome drink and check-in, we could move into our outside cabin. The luggage was brought straight from the bus to the cabin, so we didn't have to worry about it – great service.
That same evening the ship left the Egyptian port and headed for Aqaba (Jordan), the first stop on the route. We got the first evening off to a proper start.
