Mechanics' Meetup 2016

Some of our participants had a longer journey and arrived in Warstein a few days early.

On Friday afternoon the pitch filled up slowly but steadily, and the first experiences were exchanged straight away. Per had fitted a remote central locking system to his habitation door as a test, to see whether it would work at all. As it works, he now wants to develop the idea further, as he doesn't like the look of it. We're already looking forward to the results.

We spent Friday evening together on the restaurant terrace. Several activities were on our programme for Saturday. At 11.30 a.m. a covered wagon picked us up right at the pitch. Our destination was the Warsteiner brewery. After a short and very funny ride, we reached the brewery.

The wagon ride had been booked in advance, and our group was registered for a guided tour of the brewery at 12 noon.

Admission for the tour: adults 10 euros / children 7 euros.

After a short introduction, the tour began. After the 1.5-hour tour came the tasting. We had 2 hours to try all the drinks.

We went back to the pitch by covered wagon.
Most participants made good use of the afternoon for a rest.

On Saturday evening we had the party room to ourselves. Everyone had already ordered their meal à la carte the day before, so we could all eat together and on time.

This lovely mechanics' meetup was also over far too quickly, and on Sunday we headed home again. But it wasn't our last meetup – we'll continue in 2017.
