At the weekend we went to Berlin with friends, but this time without the motorhome. On Friday at midday we drove towards Berlin, but first made a detour to the outlet centre in Wustermark.
The Designer Outlet Berlin in Wustermark is a popular shopping destination for fashion lovers and bargain hunters. With over 90 shops on an area of 16,500 square metres, it offers a wide selection of top international brands such as Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Adidas and Nike, with discounts of up to 70% all year round.
Of course, with such a large selection we found something, and a few hours later we continued to the hotel.
We stayed at the Grimm's Hotel at Potsdamer Platz – very central, with all the important sights in Berlin within walking distance. The lovely day ended with a great dinner at the Miyaki restaurant.
On Saturday we set off to explore. Berlin is a city full of history and culture. Among the most important sights are the Brandenburg Gate as a symbol of unity, the Holocaust Memorial commemorating the victims of National Socialism, and modern Potsdamer Platz. The Humboldt Forum showcases cultures from around the world, while Alexanderplatz with its TV tower is a lively centre. Berlin Cathedral impresses with its architecture and offers a wide view over the city.
A short stop at the famous Checkpoint Charlie and the Hard Rock Cafe couldn't be missed.
