Wickede 2013

Petra had long dreamed of being an animal keeper one day. This wish came true thanks to myDays. In September we went to the Antoine family's home in Wickede to spend 3 hours with the animals there. After a warm welcome from Rita, Petra immediately had to feed the mini pig (well, it was supposed to be one!).

Harry was already looking forward to his lunch at the sight of the bowl and came running as fast as he could. Next we got to meet Freddy the goat. As soon as we were in the enclosure, he didn't leave our side. The little animals were of course fed too. Then we met Father Christmas's reindeer. The name fits, but the red nose is missing – Rudi the reindeer was there too. The feeding frenzy continued with lots of little animals, all of which were already waiting for Petra.

And then came the main character, the star of the show: Felix the monkey. One monkey became two: Felix and Fritzchen with his cuddly toy. Felix himself is 5 years old and Fritzchen 2.

And of course there were some cute little boa constrictors too. Our clothes were clean before the visit to Felix – so be sure to wear old clothes that can get damaged.

We spent a great afternoon in Wickede and came away with wonderful impressions. The two monkeys are not lap animals and climb over tables and chairs. They also like to jump from one shoulder to the next.

Clothes get dirty and bruises can happen. We took home a few souvenirs too.
