We set off on Wednesday morning, and what can I say – the journey was an adventure in itself. Shortly after setting off, we heard cracking noises on a bend that worried us. As the vehicle had been in the workshop two weeks earlier for a service and pre-holiday check, I called them straight away and asked whether the wheel bearings and drive shafts had also been checked.
Of course these points are part of the check, and we should come straight in. So back to the workshop. The mechanics immediately took it for a test drive and could also hear the cracking on a bend. The motorhome was driven over the inspection pit to find out where the noises were coming from. As no fault was found that way, the front axle was raised and the passenger side blocked with a wooden block. By now there were 2 mechanics and a master mechanic working on my motorhome looking for the fault. The engine was started and left running in first gear.
