At the end of August we went to Croatia again for a few days. We had originally wanted to drive, but two weeks before we left we found a direct flight from Hanover to Split for 110 euros per person. So we flew to Split on Thursday morning and were already in Tisno by 10 a.m. As in previous years, we had taken an apartment at Pension Gina.
Our boat was already waiting on the forklift, so all we had to do was quickly put it in the water and set off on our first trip – to the fuel station in Murter. In the evening we celebrated our reunion with Caro, Antonia and Marco and planned our joint tour for Friday. On Friday we headed for Kaprije. The waves were a bit higher, but we didn't let that spoil our fun, and after a while we reached the island of Krbela Vela, south of Šibenik.
Here we found a lovely quiet bay that is ideal for snorkelling.
We had long wanted to explore the channel to Lake Morinje, so we headed for the side arm. A lovely quiet lake with warm water. Be careful: the water is very shallow in places. We also discovered a little cove in the rock. After a great day we went back to Tisno – a great tour of about 80 kilometres. The weather was very changeable: always around 28 degrees and sunshine during the day, but often rain with thunder and lightning at night.
Vodice is always lovely if you want to stroll along the promenade in the evening.
A few days later we followed Marco's tip and went to a lovely sandy bay near Pakoštane. It was a great tip.
Our overnight trip took us to the bay of Mala Stupica on Žirje – a lovely long bay with a konoba and a buoy field.
After 50 kilometres we reached the bay, but on the way we spotted dolphins hunting. Simply wonderful to watch the animals in the wild.
The overnight fee for our boat at a buoy in the bay was 100 kuna – a fair price, and the collector also takes your rubbish from the boat. The bay is very long, so it is very well sheltered from the wind. There is a small konoba with fair prices, and a shuttle service is offered. After a few days it was time again: boat out, clean it, pack it up for the winter and goodbye until next year.
And after a quick breakfast it was "Goodbye, Croatia".
