In April 2010 we took part in our first forum meetup. It took place over a weekend at the "Sonjas Wohnmobilhafen" pitch in Klingenberg. The pitch is right on the lovely banks of the Main, and the old town is just a few minutes' walk away. There is a fresh water and waste disposal station and electricity, and a lovely view of the vineyards. Next to the pitch there is a Kneipp water-treading pool, and about 200 metres further on an adventure playground.
A walk through the beautiful old town is a must, with lots of little lanes that invite you to stroll. A small staircase leads straight up to a castle ruin with a restaurant in the vineyards. Well, there was apparently another way up to the castle than the steep stairs, but we didn't know about it. The view from the vineyard is a dream, with a great view of the lock on the Main.
In the evening we simply formed a big circle; everyone put their food on a large table and the buffet was ready. Of course we didn't just eat, but also tested all the homemade liqueurs.
Registration is in the small wooden hut, where you can also get bread rolls and newspapers.
