The "Zum Kuhhirten" motorhome pitch in Bremen http://www.stellplatz-bremen.de/ is close to the Weser (approx. 100 m). The pitch is very quiet and close to the city, yet surrounded by greenery.

Bremen has a low-emission zone (currently yellow/green), and the pitch is inside it. However, there is a permit for driving to the pitch, so motorhomes without a yellow or green sticker can also get there. The approach is via Bremen-Hemelingen and is signposted.

Satellite reception is practically impossible because of the trees, but you can borrow a DVB-T receiver free of charge at the pitch. The pitch costs 10 euros per night including waste disposal. Fresh water costs 1 euro per 100 litres. There are showers and toilets on site. The small room on the left is always open and is a good place for a larger group to use in bad weather. Tables, chairs, benches, a counter and lighting are available.

The next morning we headed into the city centre. The way leads across the Weser, which you can cross by ferry. The ferry costs 1.20 euros for an adult single or 2 euros return. It's about 900 metres along the Weser to the centre. Bremen's Schnoor quarter is always worth a visit: lots of narrow lanes and picturesque houses, cute figures and lovingly decorated shop windows – and a Christmas shop that is open all year round. The park along "Am Wall" is always worth a short visit too.
