In January my wife wanted to go on another "little" shopping trip. Our route was quickly planned and was to start in Posthausen.
On Friday we drove to the "Dodenhof" shopping centre in Posthausen. The shopping centre offers a fascinating range over more than 110,000 square metres, from electronics, sports and home furnishings to culinary specialities and a fashion store. There are over 5,000 free parking spaces.
A site map can be found on the Dodenhof shopping centre website.
We stayed overnight in the car park, which was pleasantly quiet.
On Saturday morning we moved on to the outlet centre in Bremen – a paradise for every woman. Shopping without end and signs everywhere saying "EVERYTHING HALF PRICE". I have to say it really is worth it, and there's plenty of choice for men too. We were able to park in the centre's own car park, so we didn't have to walk far. After a few hours even my wife wanted to move on, and we chose Nienburg on the Weser. We had read in several reports beforehand that this pitch is very nice and right on the Weser.
We weren't disappointed: an overnight stay costs 5 euros without electricity. Electricity is available via a coin machine. Fresh water and waste disposal are also available. There is a wonderful view of the Weser, where you can watch the ships go by.
Behind the pitch there is a small industrial estate with an Obi DIY store, an Expert electronics shop and a supermarket. On the other side of the Weser there is also a MediaMarkt – so a great place for the men. The bridge leads straight into the centre of Nienburg, and the view from it is wonderful. Nienburg's old town borders directly on the Weser, with beautiful buildings to admire, as well as some curious sights. For us, the pitch in Nienburg is a place we will come back to often.

Wonderful view of the Weser and the passing ships. Supermarket, DIY store and electronics shop right behind the site, over the bridge straight into the old town. A place we keep coming back to.
