This year's autumn tour took us to northern Germany. On Friday afternoon we drove via Bremen to our first destination, Bremerhaven. As we wanted to go shopping and have a relaxed meal on the first evening, we headed for the Lunapark retail park in Bremerhaven.
There are shops such as Lidl, Kaufland and Aldi, as well as a good Chinese restaurant with a buffet, which was our destination for the evening. After a lovely meal we stayed overnight in the Aldi car park.
The next morning we headed for the Doppelschleuse motorhome pitch, as it is closer to the sights and the centre.
The flat-rate overnight charge is 10 euros per motorhome. Fresh water and waste disposal are available. Electricity is available for all pitches from coin machines. Bread rolls can be ordered from the site warden. There are toilets and showers.
It's about a 1.4-kilometre walk from the pitch to the centre. With a large shopping centre, other leisure facilities and the harbour, the centre has lots to offer. One highlight is the Mediterraneo – shopping as if you were in Italy.
Next we went on to Nordstrand near Husum.
