Drage April 2010

From 16 to 18 April we were at the top-rated site in Drage on the Elbe – to christen our new boat, followed by its first trip to Hamburg.

From 16 to 18 April we were on the road again, and this time our destination was the top-rated site in Drage. Drage is about 5 km from Winsen, right on the Elbe. The site is divided into a very well-kept campsite with mostly seasonal campers and a motorhome pitch right on the Elbe (in front of the dyke). The campsite has a shop, a playground, a small lake and a great restaurant.

The main reason for going to Drage was to christen our new boat. Drage has a great boat harbour right next to the pitch with its own slipway.

Overview of the costs:
Slipping: 4 euros
Mooring per day: 8 euros
Motorhome/2 adults without electricity per day: 11 euros
Electricity: 2 euros

After the christening, we set off on the first trip to Hamburg (approx. 40 km).
Of course I had to test the boat straight away.

From the water you can see very beautiful and unusual buildings – and sometimes big ships too:

Our favourite site on the Elbe, about 5 km from Winsen: well-kept campsite with its own motorhome area in front of the dyke right on the water, no marked pitches. Marina with slipway, shop, small lake and great restaurant. This is where we christened our boats.
