In October 2009 we stayed at the motorhome pitch in Duhnen (a top-rated site). The fee per night in summer is 10 euros including fresh water and waste disposal. Electricity costs an extra 2 euros. Most of the pitches are on a paved car park, where the motorhome area is signposted separately. An adjoining meadow has been added to the available spaces.
There is a washroom with a shower. The centre and the beach are only a few minutes' walk away. A cycle path right along the North Sea leads to nearby Cuxhaven, where there are always some very interesting ships to admire. In such fantastic weather, a short mudflat walk is always lovely: walking barefoot through the mudflats, looking for and watching the creatures.
Duhnen also offers its guests other swimming facilities in several indoor pools, including a larger fun pool. The village itself is beautifully laid out and invites you to stroll around. Of course there are also the typical shops that a woman can't simply walk past.
