After a few days on the Kiel Canal, we drove on via Kaltenkirchen to Lüneburg.

There is a free motorhome pitch right next to the spa in Kaltenkirchen. There is no electricity; fresh water and waste disposal are about 250 metres away. The pitch is very quiet, and with its hedges and trees it is a lovely place to relax.

As it was only midday and raining, we packed our swimming things and went straight into the spa. The pool complex has various areas: a sports pool, a fun area with a slide and outdoor area, and the sauna area. The individual areas are all very nicely laid out, but as in many spas there are too few loungers, and the free ones are reserved with towels. The fun area isn't suitable for resting on the loungers, as it is very loud. The loungers by the sports pool are an alternative.

After a quiet night, we decided to leave Kaltenkirchen and headed for Lüneburg. Here too our destination was the local spa. After looking for a parking space near the spa, we arrived there. The first pleasant surprise came at the cash desk: the prices are all relatively low, and lots of inexpensive packages with treatments are offered. So we spontaneously chose a full-day ticket with the sauna area, a full-body massage and a drink at the bar for 32.50 euros per person. We weren't disappointed. The pool complex and the sauna area are a real oasis of relaxation, and we already know that this won't be our last visit.

After a great day full of relaxation, we went to the motorhome pitch in Lüneburg. Unfortunately the entire pitch with its more than 40 spaces was already full, so we moved on to the pitch in Adendorf. It is right next to the sports ground and free of charge; electricity is available from coin machines.

After breakfast we headed home again and reached our starting point 2 hours later.

Our fallback because the Lüneburg site with over 40 pitches was full. Right by the sports ground. The Lüneburg salt-water baths are highly recommended.
