Easter tour 2026, part 2: Dangast
On the fourth day it was time to say goodbye to Emmen. After a relaxed breakfast we set off towards Dangast on the North Sea. Click here for part 1: Easter tour 2026, part 1: Emmen
A place that stands for peace, nature and a real coastal feeling. We had already booked a front-row pitch at the Rennweide campsite in advance – a decision that turned out to be an absolute bullseye.
As soon as we arrived, it was clear: this location is hard to beat. Right in front of us lay the Wadden Sea, with an unobstructed view to the horizon. The campsite impresses with its central location and short distances, combined with a pleasant tranquillity.
The absolute highlight, however, was the natural spectacle of the tides. Several times a day the landscape changed completely: sometimes the water retreated far out and exposed the mudflats, then everything filled up again slowly and powerfully. Watching this interplay live from our pitch was meditative and fascinating at the same time.
The next day activity was on the programme – in perfect weather we walked to the nearby mini golf course.
Here too we were pleasantly surprised: the holes were anything but standard. Designed with lots of creativity and attention to detail, each hole offered a new challenge. Unusual obstacles, varied layouts and a very well-kept condition overall made the game a real experience.
Combined with the brilliant sunshine and the fresh North Sea air, it was one of those days you simply enjoy – uncomplicated, relaxed and full of little highlights.
The next day was a very special occasion: our cousin's wedding.
The ceremony took place at the World Heritage Wadden Sea visitor centre in Dangast – right by the sea, with an incomparable view of the Wadden Sea. The combination of modern architecture, open space and the natural backdrop of the North Sea made this an exceptional wedding venue.
The atmosphere was unique: a gentle breeze, the soft sound of the water and the wide panorama created a dignified and at the same time emotional setting. You could feel that this place not only impresses visually but also radiates a special calm and meaning.
In the evening, after a wonderful wedding and a very lovely holiday, we headed back home.
