Rinteln lies on the Weser between Porta Westfalica and Hameln. The free motorhome pitch (max. 3 days) is very idyllically situated on an enclosed site with paved roads and grass pitches.

If the pitch gets too crowded, many people move onto a large adjoining meadow.

There is a limited number of electricity connections, operated by coins. Fresh water and waste disposal are also available.

Overview of costs:

  • 100 l fresh water = 2 euros
  • Grey water / toilet disposal = 2 euros
  • Electricity = 0.50 euros per kWh

Nearby there is a beer garden that invites you to stop for a while in good weather.

A bridge leads straight into Rinteln's historic old town, which simply invites you to stroll and browse. During our stay at the beginning of April, there was an event in the pedestrian zone.

Right on the market square, we saw the beautiful old town in all its glory. A complete ensemble of restored half-timbered houses from the 13th century has been preserved here in its original form. A special gem are the water features dotted around the town centre: in the warm season a little stream, like the ones you know from southern Germany, babbles along. The surrounding area offers a wide range of leisure activities. In the Weser Hills around Rinteln, a landscape of forests and mountains with wonderful views over the area awaits you and invites you to go hiking – or you can simply follow the cycle path along the Weser.

Very idyllic on an enclosed site with firm lanes and grass pitches on the Weser, between Porta Westfalica and Hameln. A limited number of coin-operated electricity posts. When it gets full, many move to the adjoining meadow – arriving early pays off. We stayed here in 2011 and 2013.
