Steinhude am Meer lies between Hanover and Rinteln. The town offers everything your heart could desire, from water sports to long cycling and hiking trails, horse riding or simply lovely walks along the promenade. The pitch is about a 5-minute walk from the lake and the promenade. This top-rated site, open all year round (LINK), has space for 180 motorhomes. There are 60 electricity connections, bookable for 3 euros per day. Fresh water and waste disposal facilities are available. The overnight fee is 7.50 euros. The washroom built in 2007 has showers, toilets, dryers and washing machines. It is very clean and only accessible to guests of the pitch.
Small works of art on the way to the promenade provide interesting talking points.
When you arrive at the lake, you are immediately greeted by the full splendour of the architecture, which simply casts a spell on you.
There are lots of park-like areas in Steinhude. On Lake Steinhude you can take a round trip on small or larger boats, or visit the island of Wilhelmstein. Private boats with petrol engines are not allowed on the lake. You'll find a place to relax everywhere. The path along the water is very idyllic. Restaurants, cafés and small bars invite you to indulge and linger.
Conclusion:
We would come back 100%. You feel as if you are instantly at the sea in southern Europe. More information can be found at Steinhude.
