Wildeshausen lies in the middle of the Wildeshauser Geest nature park, between Bremen and Oldenburg. The town is surrounded by lots of woodland that invites you to go cycling. The "Am Kandel" motorhome pitch is about a 15-minute walk from the town centre. Right nearby are the outdoor pool and an indoor play centre for children. The play centre can only be reached via the pitch, so at certain times there is more car traffic on the pitch.

The spaces for the individual motorhomes are very generous. The 16 pitches (9 paved / 7 on grass) are also suitable for large vehicles. An overnight stay costs 5 euros per motorhome, with electricity already included. There is a charge for fresh water and waste disposal.

Saturday morning: the rain was over, so off we went into town to explore.

On the main street a large antiques and second-hand shop immediately caught our eye. In the shop we discovered lots of great things, from pictures to cupboards. Unfortunately our motorhome isn't big enough to transport a cupboard.

So on towards the centre. Our next stop was the "Zweirad-Profi" bike shop, which caught our attention. As we're currently interested in e-bikes, we went in to have a look around. After a short aimless look around, a member of staff came up to us. We told him what we were interested in – and then came the pleasant surprise. Even though we said we weren't from the area and didn't know whether we wanted to buy e-bikes at all, we got super advice. He took almost 45 minutes for us, explained all the differences between the various motors and their advantages and disadvantages, and we also took several test rides. In the end it turned out that he was the junior boss of the family business, and that Zweirad-Profi Büld runs three specialist shops. A small stream runs right through the shopping street.

The historic market square on the "Vlamsche Strat" was already an important trading place in the Middle Ages. The fountain was built back in 1747 so that travelling merchants had a supply of water.

A few minutes later we reached the town centre.
