The tour was entertaining, well explained and full of exciting stories – about knights, damsels and life in the castle over the centuries, for example. Even if you're not a big fan of the Middle Ages, you'll hardly be able to resist the charm of its history here.

Nature and history in harmony

Well-signposted hiking trails around the castle invite you to explore further. The combination of nature, history and impressive architecture makes the visit an unforgettable experience. Particularly nice: the castle is car-free – which means peace, birdsong and an almost fairy-tale atmosphere.

To round off our motorhome trip, we went to a city with an impressive history and a dreamlike location: Koblenz, at the confluence of the Rhine and the Moselle. We were thrilled as soon as we arrived. Our destination was the KNAUS Campingpark Koblenz, right at the mouth of the Moselle. The site is perfectly located, clean and quiet, yet only a short walk from the city centre – ideal for a varied stay.

As soon as we had set up, we were drawn to the Deutsches Eck, Koblenz's well-known landmark. Where the Moselle and the Rhine majestically flow together stands the imposing equestrian statue of Emperor Wilhelm I. The view is impressive – of the two rivers, the passing ships and the surrounding vineyards. Especially in the evening, when the monument is lit up, there's a very special atmosphere.
