The next day our journey took us on to Leipzig, where we visited the famous Leipzig Zoo. As soon as you enter, it quickly becomes clear why this zoo is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe.
The extensive, lovingly designed enclosures let you immerse yourself in different continents: whether in Gondwanaland with its tropical jungle world, in the savannah with giraffes and zebras or in Pongoland with the great apes, every themed world is impressively staged. You never feel as if you're just walking past enclosures, but rather part of an exciting voyage of discovery.
We were particularly thrilled by the combination of animal encounters, nature and architecture. The zoo isn't just a place for animal lovers but also a beautiful park that invites you to linger and marvel.
At the end of the day we were full of new impressions and absolutely convinced: Leipzig Zoo is a highlight you shouldn't miss on any trip.
After a great day we drove on to our actual destination: Dresden.
