Our North Sea tour began in Bremerhaven.
On Sunday we left Bremerhaven, heading for Nordstrand. To avoid driving all the way round via Hamburg, we took the Elbe ferry from Wischhafen to Glückstadt. The crossing only takes 25 minutes and costs 20 euros for a motorhome up to 8 metres including 2 people.
After a few hours' driving we reached the Nordstrand peninsula and the Womoland Nordstrand motorhome pitch.
The pitch is idyllically situated by a dyke in a very quiet location. The individual pitches are separated by hedges and are all very generously sized. There are showers, toilets and cooking plates, as well as fresh water and waste disposal. An overnight stay including unlimited 6 A electricity costs 16.50 euros.
It's about 10 km over the dyke back to the mainland and Husum. Having some form of transport makes sense, as the nearest shops are 6 kilometres away.
A little shopping trip to Husum was a great experience. Husum's town centre is lovely to look at, and there is parking for motorhomes too: 1 euro per hour right by the harbour.
After 2 great days we left the peninsula and headed for our next destination.
Next we went on to Audorf on the Kiel Canal.

Idyllic and very quiet by the dyke. Generous pitches separated by hedges, showers, toilets and hotplates available. Husum with its lovely town centre and harbour is not far. Tip for the journey: the Elbe ferry Wischhafen–Glückstadt.
