On 20 March we hadn't booked an excursion, as the ship was still in Miami and we only wanted to do some shopping.

So in the morning we went to nearby Downtown, with our first stop at Ross, a shop with lots of brand-name goods at low prices. We had already shopped here on our December tour, and now again. After a final coffee we went to most women's dream shop, Victoria's Secret. Here too we found plenty and of course bought it.

Then back to the ship and to the pool – the 30 degrees had to be made the most of.

On the way back we watched a seaplane landing – something we had never seen before.

At 6 p.m. it was finally time to cast off and set out for our first destination, Port Canaveral.

Overnight, in a calm sea, the Vita took us to Port Canaveral, 320 kilometres away.

On 21 March at 8 a.m. sharp we were at the pier. Once again we had booked the excursion to Universal Studios through AIDA, as we had liked this destination so much in December. The advantage of Port Canaveral is its proximity to the studios.

After only an hour by bus we reached our destination, and the weather was at its best at over 30 degrees.

We had actually thought that, as on our last visit, the park would still be relatively empty at this time – but unfortunately we were way off. In the period before Easter the parks are particularly busy. So we stormed the park, and our first destination was Harry Potter, as we hadn't managed it last time. The shock came quickly: a waiting time of 75 minutes.

We queued anyway, as we wanted to see it – and it was worth it.

Departure back to the ship was at 5.45 p.m. At 8 p.m. it was time to weigh anchor again and head for Puerto Rico – a distance of 1,852 kilometres to San Juan and two sea days. The sea greeted us with a wonderful sunset.
