On 25 March, 224 km later, we reached the port of Tortola. Here we had booked an AIDA excursion again: a beach day on Jost Van Dyke (TOR24).

At 9 a.m. sharp we took the tender boat from the ship to the pier and went straight onto a motor catamaran.

The trip through the island groups in the wonderful weather was glorious. 40 minutes later we reached the sandy beach. A small dinghy dropped us off on the beach, where the loungers were already waiting. Clothes off and into the warm water. The beach itself doesn't have much to offer – no shops or anything else – just relaxing. The locals were quite generous with the volume of their music, and even someone hard of hearing couldn't have missed it, but at some point our scout Kerstin Brunner made sure it didn't have to be at full volume. The food on the beach was freshly prepared and very tasty. The return trip on the catamaran was great fun: the rum being served and the atmosphere on board turned our boat into a party boat, with loud singing – e.g. "Everybody say hey hey hey". In the evening the Vita set off for our next destination, 565 kilometres away.
