27 March was a sea day, as the distance to the Bahamas, our last stop on this trip, was 1,297 kilometres. On 28 March we arrived in the Bahamas at around 10 a.m.

The Bahamas are very popular with cruise ships, so it was nothing unusual that several ships were in port.

We hadn't booked an excursion here but did everything on our own. Our destination was the Atlantis hotel. The four of us took a taxi to the Atlantis on Paradise Island for 4 dollars per person. The admission prices to the park are extremely high: the aquarium costs 42 dollars per person, the beach 75 dollars and everything together 150 dollars. The aquarium world immediately cast its spell on us: rays, sharks and other marine creatures swam all around us. The hotel complex is huge and sprawling, with its own beaches, a casino, shops and pools full of fish everywhere.

After more than four hours of marvelling – and a Frappuccino at Starbucks (no free Wi-Fi) – we left the complex again, and our stretch limousine was already waiting for us.

Back in town we explored Nassau, with a short stop at the famous café. McDonald's and the other well-known fast-food chains were everywhere (free Wi-Fi).

In the evening the last leg of this trip began, heading for Miami. In our cabin there was a little farewell greeting.

On 29 March, after 532 kilometres, we reached Miami early in the morning. Nothing had changed with the customs regulations: all suitcases had to be put outside the cabin by 2 a.m. the night before and were then collected by the crew. All passengers had to be off the ship by 10.30 a.m. and got their suitcases back. But our holiday wasn't over yet, as we spent a few more days in Miami Beach.
