One lap of the lake by bike is 6 kilometres and very easy to ride. Leaving Bled, however, there is no cycle path for the first kilometre, so you have to ride on the narrow road.
We had barely finished the lap when I noticed my rear tyre losing air. The tyre and inner tube on my bike were just 7 days old. Fortunately we found a Decathlon in Bled and bought an inner tube, a repair kit and some emergency sealant. We pumped in the sealant and the tyre held again.
Back at the campsite a Malibu Van suddenly parked next to ours, and at some point we realised that we were in the same "Malibu Van" Facebook group and had already exchanged messages there several times. We had a great evening swapping experiences.
The next morning we emptied all the tanks (grey water can be drained at a spot in front of the campsite by the tennis courts) and headed for Croatia. The border crossing took 10 minutes in our direction; on the other side there was a queue of at least 15 kilometres because two lanes were narrowed down to one.
We drove to Rabac, where we had arranged to meet friends who were spending a week there in a hotel. The road to Rabac winds down through hairpin bends, and after what felt like an eternity we reached the village. Our destination was Camping Oliva: a great location right on the bay, good value and a lovely modern washroom block. The pitches were too tight for our liking, but for one night it was perfectly fine.
Rabac is a place to unwind, with plenty of restaurants, bars and the usual souvenir shops. After a lovely evening with our friends we carried on to Pula the next morning.
In Pula we checked in at the Arena Stoja campsite again, just as we had in June. In the afternoon we cycled into the old town for a stroll, booked a massage, had an ice cream and so on.
