Day 13 / 29 degrees

AIDAaura stayed at the pier overnight. Our berth at Hiep Phuoc isn't an impressive view, as it's a container terminal. At 2 p.m. the lines were cast off and the last leg of this trip began. AIDAaura wound her way down the Saigon River back into the South China Sea.

Vietnam didn't convince us. Some guests reported pickpocketing and even a robbery on an excursion, although AIDA had warned extensively in advance not to show or wear any valuables openly. Of all the countries we visited, Vietnam was by far the worst – but everyone should form their own opinion.

We left the Saigon River and headed for Thailand. The South China Sea was very rough again, and the obligatory sick bags were placed all over the ship.

After two weeks we now had our regular spot in the AIDA Bar, right next to the AIDA travel adviser. So we soon had great conversations with her.

Many thanks to Bianca Kita, who put up with us every evening for two weeks.

In the evening the farewell party was scheduled in the theatre, so that guests could still relax on the last sea day. At 9.30 p.m. the club director welcomed everyone in the theatre. After the show the party continued on the pool deck with sparkling wine and dancing. It was a long night.
