We went to almost all the shows – and it's these that make the park so special.
Dolphin show
Dynamic, fast, with impressive leaps. The synchronisation between trainers and animals was remarkable.
Sea lions
Entertaining and humorously staged – with lots of audience interaction. Laid-back, but professional.
The absolute highlight of the day was the orca show.
The power and elegance of the orcas are overwhelming live. When several tonnes of weight shoot out of the water, the size of these animals really becomes tangible. Dramatic music, perfectly coordinated choreography and enormous dynamism made this show particularly impressive.
Return & Santa Cruz
At 2.15 p.m. we headed back, and at around 3 p.m. we were back at the ship.
But the day wasn't over yet: we decided to walk into Santa Cruz once more.
The city was already in a state of emergency – preparations for the famous Tenerife carnival were in full swing. Stages were being built, decorations put up, bustling activity everywhere.
The city centre was lively, clean and modern – ideal for a little stroll, a café stop or simply watching the colourful goings-on.
Back on board it was time to cast off. The journey continued towards Lanzarote – with lots of impressions in our luggage.
On the seventh day Mein Schiff Relax reached Lanzarote. One look from the deck made it clear: brilliant sunshine, a deep blue sky – but also a strong wind, typical of the island.
Instead of an organised excursion, this time we walked into Arrecife at a leisurely pace. The route along the promenade was pleasant and offered lovely views of the sea again and again.
Arrecife itself seemed:
- tidy
- modern
- and at the same time typically Canarian
Especially around the Charco de San Ginés lagoon, the city showed its charming side – small fishing boats, cafés by the water and whitewashed houses.
As lovely as the weather was, the wind was clearly noticeable. At times strong gusts reminded us that Lanzarote's landscape is barren and open.
It was precisely this contrast – sun on your face, wind in your hair – that gave the day a special energy.
