There are many interesting excursions in the area, such as historic Travemünde with its harbour, beautiful old town and promenade. You can also hire bikes to explore the area or take part in various activities. A great place to spend a relaxing time on the Baltic, enjoy nature and leave the stress of everyday life behind.
The next morning we cycled leisurely to Travemünde. The 4 kilometres on the cycle path were quickly covered – only the icy headwind (it felt like 6 degrees) wasn't so pleasant.
Travemünde itself is a beautiful place; the charming harbour, the picturesque beach promenade and the variety of shops delighted us. The harbour is a lively place where numerous boats and ships moor. Here you can feel the maritime flair or simply enjoy the lovely view of the water, which we were happy to do.
In the area there are lots of great shops where you can find souvenirs, maritime decorations, fashion and regional specialities. Of course the shops were closed on Good Friday, so our shopping stroll was postponed to Saturday.
