A special highlight was a short boat trip on the "Hansa", which runs in the afternoon and lasts about an hour. During the trip we could experience the beautiful coastal landscape from the water and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. The trip is a great opportunity to see the area from a different perspective and round off the day in a relaxed way.
For some reason, Google Maps showed me that Travemünde is right next to Düsseldorf airport.
On Saturday morning the sand sculpture exhibition was on our programme. The 2025 sand sculpture exhibition was all about the fascinating theme of "Circus". Visitors could admire an impressive collection of artistically crafted sand sculptures that captured the colourful, lively flair of a circus.
With lots of creativity and attention to detail, the artists had created scenes from circus life: acrobats, clowns, animal acts and details of the big top were depicted in impressive size and with astonishing precision. The colourful, dynamic figures in particular drew visitors into the world of the circus and created a cheerful, magical atmosphere.
We could admire the sculptures up close and take photos. Admission: 12.50 euros per adult.
