Early in the morning it's still wonderfully quiet and nice and empty on the pool deck.
On day 3 we sailed into Grand Turk at 8 a.m. We left the ship first thing in the morning and hired a golf cart. Originally the cart was supposed to cost 100 dollars for the whole day plus fuel; we took it for 80 including everything.
Horses and donkeys were released into the wild on the island a long time ago, so they roam freely everywhere.
We drove right across the small island, which measures 11 x 2 km. At the lighthouse we had a great view. The capital, Cockburn Town, isn't worth recommending – driving through once is enough.
On the way back we discovered a secluded beach for swimming and stopped there for a few hours. There's also a beach right by the pier, but it's more reminiscent of Mallorca and mass tourism.
