On Grand Cayman seven of us teamed up and booked the excursion "Swimming with the rays (Stingray City followed by Seven Mile Beach)" right at the port. 30 dollars per person – a good price – and shortly after paying we took the bus to the boat.

On the boat we sailed past the most beautiful villas.

The crossing took about 45 minutes in glorious 30-degree weather. At the sandbank there's a real crowd. But the rays come to this spot voluntarily, as they are fed there. After another stop at a small reef for snorkelling, we went back and were dropped off at the famous Seven Mile Beach.

Water temperature 28 degrees and warm sand. We didn't get our food right on the beach but from the food truck in the car park. We've rarely eaten such a great burger. Everything super fresh, without preservatives and handmade. They specifically point out that you may have to wait longer when ordering at the truck, as they don't use frozen food and nothing is pre-cooked and kept warm. (This great concept should be adopted here too.)

After relaxing and a bit of jet-skiing, we went back to the ship.

Unfortunately that was our last stop on the trip, and the farewell party followed in the evening.

On a trip like this you often meet people who do strange things – and then tell you about them too. So it was on this tour. A man told us about his experience with the shower door in his cabin on AIDAluna the day before. The shower door has a hole for opening it, and the man in question had the idea that something other than a finger would fit through it too. He tried it out straight away while his girlfriend was in the shower – the only trouble being that some things may grow at certain moments. wink
