In Cozumel we had booked the excursion COZ03 through AIDA (Culture and paradise: Tulum & Xel-Há). We had to meet at the AIDA Bar at 6 a.m. Very early, but the excursion lasted 12 hours. Booking through AIDA was a little insurance, as we had to take the ferry across to the mainland and there can be long queues on the way back. AIDA always charters whole ferries for its excursions here.

The ferry crossing itself was a disaster: high waves, and the captain took them all side-on, so the ferry rocked extremely and many guests had to be s.....

The bus ride to Tulum took 1.5 hours. Luckily we arrived very early, so we could see and marvel at a lot before the big rush. We had 2 hours at the Maya site, but that was too short.

At 11 a.m. we continued to Xel-Há, a water and amusement park. After 5 hours we went back to the ferry and then back to AIDAluna.
