This year's summer holiday was completely different from our usual summer holidays of recent years. My wife had long wished to travel around Scotland by motorhome. So in June 2018 we set off from Hanover towards Scotland.
We had booked the ferry from Rotterdam to Hull in advance, due to leave on Saturday evening.
As we set off on Friday, we made a stop at the "de Hane" campsite near Apeldoorn.
The site is only 5 kilometres from the motorway. An overnight stay with electricity, showers and water costs 12 euros per night – a great price. The large lake with a sandy beach is only 300 metres away. The owner is very nice and helpful. The electricity connection is right at the pitch, and fresh water is available at a central point. The showers and toilets are all clean, and there is also a small kiosk.
