After 470 km we reached the "Witches Craig" campsite in Stirling. We had booked in advance and were expected. The site itself is very idyllically situated on a hillside, and the pitches are very generous. The campsite costs 26 pounds per night with electricity, water and showers. A short time later we had unloaded the scooter and set off on our first exploration. 3 km away there is a large supermarket that meets every need. The next day we went straight to the Wallace Monument. The tower, completed in 1869, was built in memory of William Wallace. It stands on a small hill that is easy to climb on foot, but there is also a shuttle bus.

Lots of colourful wood carvings decorate the path to the tower. Admission to the tower costs 10.50 pounds per person. 246 steps later you reach the highest point of the tower and enjoy a view over the whole valley. Afterwards we visited Stirling town centre and Stirling Castle. The castle's emblem is a unicorn, much to my wife's delight.
