We continued right across the island towards the Natural Bridge/Baby Bridge, along Aruba's wild north-east coast. At the bridge we could explore the truly wild coast and watch breathtaking waves.

The next stop was the California Lighthouse. This lighthouse sits majestically on the hills in the north-west of the island and offers a breathtaking view of the Caribbean Sea. The lighthouse was built in 1910 and originally served as a landmark for the many shipping routes in the region. The stop was rounded off with a delicious coconut smoothie.

Our last stop was Eagle Beach, one of the most breathtaking coastlines in the Caribbean: powder-white sand, crystal-clear water and an incomparable tropical atmosphere. This dreamlike coast on the island of Aruba is not only a paradise for sun worshippers but also a place of natural beauty and relaxed luxury. We could enjoy these beautiful surroundings for over 2 hours and were supplied with cold drinks during that time.

Our tour ended punctually at the cruise terminal. Payment was in cash and in dollars (70 dollars per person). Rensley and Rita gave us a great day on Aruba, and we would book this tour again at any time. Rensley and Rita (who comes from Germany) both speak superb German, and the whole tour was conducted in German.

We had booked this tour very early, as it gets booked up very quickly.

The next day we reached Curaçao. Here we had already booked a tour in advance with German emigrants Sevi and Patrick. The two have set up their own business on the island under the name Curacao Dreams and offer German-language tours. Meeting point 8.30 a.m. at the cruise terminal. We set off straight away in the small bus, and our first stop was a lake with lots of flamingos. After the photo stop we went straight to one of the most beautiful beaches on Curaçao, Playa Porto Mari.

Playa Porto Mari is a picturesque beach in the south-west of Curaçao, known for its breathtaking beauty, turquoise waters and rich underwater world. Here we had an hour to swim and relax. We were supplied with cold drinks the whole time, and loungers and parasols were available to us free of charge.

We continued to Shete Boka National Park to marvel at the wild and rugged side of Curaçao. The nature reserve is known for its impressive cliffs, thundering surf and unspoilt coastal landscapes.

Playa Piskado was our next stop. One of the main attractions of Playa Piskado is the chance to snorkel with sea turtles. The turtles are used to the presence of the fishermen, as they throw their fish scraps back into the sea. Snorkellers have the unique opportunity to get up close to these fascinating sea creatures and experience them in their natural environment. Here we were also treated to Sevi's homemade rum punch and homemade banana cake – simply delicious.
