Then we drove to the Depaz distillery. The Depaz distillery lies at the foot of Mont Pelée near Le Morne-Rouge, Martinique. The scenic surroundings offer a breathtaking view of the mountains and the volcano. Depaz is known for producing rhum agricole of the highest quality. The rum is made directly from fresh sugar cane juice, which gives it a unique and fruity taste. We had the chance to try all the different varieties – luckily we didn't have to drive. When we were at Depaz, a Christmas market had just been set up in front of the grounds – at over 30 degrees.

Of course the beach couldn't be missing to round things off. Here we could enjoy the warm water for another hour.

After a great day, Sebastiano dropped us off punctually at the terminal. The cost for the day was 90 dollars or 80 euros per person.

A clear recommendation for the tour with Sebastiano.

The whole tour was in German.

The next day we went to Dominica. Dominica is an island in the eastern Caribbean and lies between the two French overseas departments of Guadeloupe and Martinique. The island is known for its lush tropical landscape, volcanoes, waterfalls and a large number of rivers. Here we had booked the AIDA excursion "Tubing on the river and waterfall". We set off by minibus early in the morning and drove for about an hour across the island to its eastern side. Once we had reached our destination, we were given a safety briefing and life jackets. A short time later each of us was sitting on an inflatable ring. The fun ride down the river is a special experience – we really enjoyed following the river on the ring. After an hour we reached the end of the river ride and continued by bus to the Jacko Falls. You can look at these waterfalls, but you don't miss much if you don't. After 4 hours we were back at AIDAdiva.

The following day we arrived in Guadeloupe. Guadeloupe is a French overseas region and a group of islands in the Caribbean. It consists of several islands, the largest of which are known as Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre. Other smaller islands are Marie-Galante, La Désirade and Les Saintes. We had decided on a quiet day and looked around Basse-Terre. Basse-Terre is known for its historical significance, its colonial buildings and its proximity to natural attractions. We simply let ourselves drift in the French flair.

On Wednesday we reached St Kitts. St Kitts is part of the independent state of Saint Kitts and Nevis and lies in the eastern Caribbean, about 2 miles south-east of St Eustatius and about 50 miles west of Antigua. We teamed up with 4 other AIDA guests and took a taxi from outside the terminal to the most beautiful beach on St Kitts. Carambola Beach is a picturesque beach on the island of St Kitts, known for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere. Loungers and parasols can be booked on the beach: 2 loungers and a parasol cost 30 dollars.
