We continued to a small hill, where we got a great overview of the French Atlantic side, before driving to Bikini Beach for a swim.

After 30 minutes and a wonderful cool-down, we continued to Marigot.

The capital, Marigot, captivates with its picturesque harbour, colourful market stalls and charming colonial buildings.

A central element of the French side is its emphasis on gastronomy. Saint-Martin is a paradise for gourmets, with a wide range of restaurants from cosy bistros to gourmet establishments. French cuisine shapes the culinary experience, and visitors can enjoy excellent seafood, delicious baguettes and fine wines.

After a wonderful walk through the French capital, we continued to the highlight of Sint Maarten: Maho Beach.

Maho Beach, on the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten, is famous for its unique location right next to Princess Juliana International Airport. The highlights of this beach are without doubt the spectacular landing approaches of the planes gliding low over the beach – and we wanted to experience that.

Visitors experience the impressive spectacle up close as planes fly over the beach just before landing. This breathtaking encounter between people and machines makes Maho Beach a unique destination for aviation and beach lovers alike.

After 4 hours we were back at the port.

In the evening AIDAdiva sailed out again, heading for La Romana. But first we had another sea day.

After a great sea day with massages and wonderful food at Rossini, we reached La Romana again after 14 days. In the evening our plane took us back to cold Germany.
