We had been looking forward to this trip for a very long time. In March we set off on AIDAsol for the "Winter in the far north" tour.
On 1 March, after a relaxed journey and a short stop at the Hard Rock Cafe, we reached the Holzhafen in Hamburg-Altona. We had reserved a space for our car in the Holzhafen multi-storey car park in advance, and it was perfect. The flood-protected car park is less than a 10-minute walk from AIDA's berth, making for a relaxed arrival. Quickly drop off the suitcases and then onto AIDAsol – that was the plan. Unfortunately many arriving passengers thought they didn't need to stick to their check-in times, so very long queues had formed. The AIDA staff had their hands full sorting people by their check-in time.
But eventually that was done too, and our trip could begin.
