At 6.30 p.m. we sailed out too and set course for Norway.
Our first day was a sea day – ideal for starting the holiday. These days we very often book breakfast at Buffalo and enjoy the special service in the restaurant. We spent the day completely relaxed, with lots of reading, exploring the ship and massages.
We rounded off the lovely day at the Rossini restaurant.

After a great sea day, on Monday we sailed into the first port of our trip. Haugesund, with its 37,855 inhabitants, lies on the North Sea coast, roughly halfway between Bergen and Stavanger.
We didn't book an excursion here but simply set off on our own and explored the town. At -8 degrees and in sunshine, we strolled through the town.
There are interesting buildings, sights and great views to be found on every corner.
