Day 11: Wiesenbeker Teich – Idyllic Setting with Tricky Parking
A special highlight was still on our itinerary: the 5-star Campingplatz Wiesenbeker Teich in Bad Lauterberg. We had discovered it on the NDR TV show "Tietjen campt"—and the panorama did not disappoint! A sandy beach, a waterskiing course, a top-notch sanitary facility, and above all, wonderful tranquility: no traffic noise, just pure nature.
Still, arrival held a small adventure: for a 6.5-meter motorhome, the pitches are tightly dimensioned. On our first pitch, we could barely open the rear doors despite having removed the bike rack. However, the team let us switch without any fuss, and with wheel ramps and a bit of fine-tuning on the air suspension, we were finally standing perfectly level.
Tip for large motorhomes: Ask for a larger pitch when booking.
In the afternoon, we cycled the good three kilometers downhill to Bad Lauterberg—well aware that the way back up to the pond would be quite athletic.
