Day 2: Cycling to the Ice Cream Parlor

Under glorious sunshine, we got on our bikes in the morning. The destination was Eisdiele Anne Ecke—an absolute recommendation! The ice cream was super delicious, and the service was exceptionally friendly.

In the afternoon, it cooled down noticeably. We made the best of it and spent the rest of the day relaxing at the campsite. A perfectly balanced holiday day between activity and rest!

Day 3: Bike Ride to Wismar and a Wonderful Reunion

The third day began with a beautiful, roughly ten-kilometer bike ride right along the water straight into Wismar. In the historic old town, our first stop was the Heiligen-Geist-Kirche (Church of the Holy Spirit)—the ornate wood carvings inside are absolutely impressive. Afterwards, we strolled across the market square to the famous Wasserkunst waterworks and enjoyed the maritime flair at the harbor.

In the afternoon, a particularly lovely reunion was on the agenda: we met Petra's Uncle Dieter and Silke. Over wonderful coffee at the Acosta – La Casa del Café roastery—a real insider tip for coffee lovers—there was endless catching up to do. We rounded off the day with a fantastic dinner at the traditional restaurant Zum Alten Schweden, located right on the market square.

A small adventure still awaited us on the way back: a heavy rain shower caught us by surprise, so we arrived back at the campsite completely soaked, but thoroughly happy.
