Day 12 and Journey Home: Circuit Around the Pond
The rain drummed on the roof until noon—the perfect excuse for a relaxed morning sleeping in and enjoying hot coffee. In the afternoon, the sun came out, and we set off on a beautiful loop around the Wiesenbeker Teich.
The Wiesenbeker Teich was dammed by miners in the 18th century to supply water power for the nearby Scholmzeche mine. As part of the Upper Harz Water Management System, it is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
The walk along the shore was a wonderful conclusion to our trip. The next morning, it was time to pack up and head home—with many great memories in tow and looking forward to the next tour!

5-star site known from the TV show "Tietjen campt": sandy beach, water-ski course, first-class washroom and wonderful silence. Pitches are tight for a 6.5 m motorhome – ask for a larger pitch when booking.
