Day 4: Luxury Camping at Schloss Sigrön

After our time on the Baltic coast, we moved on to the Campingplatz am Schloss Sigrön. We had become aware of it through the TV show "Camping Check" with Friso. Touted as a place for luxury camping, relaxation, and peace, our expectations were high—which is quite understandable at €62 per night for two people.

After about a two-hour drive, we reached the grounds at 1:30 PM. Since admission and reception don't open until 2:00 PM, we used the waiting time for an initial walk around. The campsite immediately made a well-kept and spacious impression, and with around twelve vehicles present, it was pleasantly uncrowded.

Check-in went smoothly and pragmatically: since we had booked and paid online, according to the owner, no further registration was necessary. Access is via an entry code—since the email with the access details hadn't reached us, we received it hassle-free on a slip of paper. We would have wished for a bit more warmth in the greeting, but the arrival was handled quickly.

The pitch quickly made up for it: we were parked right next to the pool area, which is truly superbly designed. One employee stood out particularly positively in our memory, taking the time to explain the facility to us in a friendly and detailed manner. The super modern sanitary building also fully lives up to the standard of upscale camping. However, the castle that gives the site its name can only be guessed at from the grounds, as it is mostly hidden behind dense trees.

Our conclusion: An interesting experience with high-quality facilities and relaxation by the pool—but for us, it remains a one-time visit.
