On the eighth day of our trip, a special highlight was on the programme: a visit to the Briksdalsbreen glacier. We set off early in the morning and parked the motorhome in the car park. From there we started the climb on foot. The path led us through an impressive landscape – past roaring waterfalls, clear streams and dense greenery. The trail was steep in places but easy to walk, and the higher we got, the more we could feel the fresh, cool air of the glacier.

At the top a magnificent sight awaited us: the mighty glacier with its bluish shimmering ice front, framed by steep rock faces. The view was overwhelming, and the feeling of standing so close to this natural wonder unforgettable. We lingered for a while, enjoyed the silence and let our gaze wander over the impressive landscape.
