Our motorhome holiday in Amsterdam, with a visit to the canals.
In 2021 we moved our boat from Almere to Lelystad on the IJsselmeer – and discovered a brand-new motorhome pitch on a little island in front of the town.
One of the last lovely weekends of September 2020: by boat from Almere Poort through the lock and into the canals of Amsterdam – and back the next day on foot.
After three months of roof repairs at Frankia, our first trip in 2019 was a garden shopping tour: Zutphen, the huge Fonteyn garden centre, Oosterik and Rila.
Over Easter 2018 we stayed at a small, friendly campsite by the forest in Arnhem and visited the wonderful Burgers' Zoo.
A weekend in Slagharen in the Netherlands – an idyllic campsite with pools, restaurants and a huge amusement park, all for 80 euros for two nights.
A quiet day near the Dutch border, shopping at the Roermond outlet and four rainy days in Amsterdam – with canals, the Maritime Museum and the Albert Cuyp market.
Over Ascension Day 2015 we stayed at the Roompot campsite in Borger – with its own lake, an indoor pool, a bike ride to Assen and fish pedicures.
Four days in Amsterdam at the Zeeburg campsite: canals, the palace, the cannabis quarter, Chinatown and the Maritime Museum – in wind and rain.
A quiet Sunday at the Graskamp campsite near the Dutch border and a shopping trip to the Roermond outlet centre before heading on to Amsterdam.
Easter 2014: a visit to friends in Salzbergen and the Emsflower garden centre, then the huge Marveld campsite in Groenlo and a bike ride to Obelink in Winterswijk.
Our Easter 2013 tour to Zeeland was all about "shopping and relaxing": the beach at Dishoek, Vlissingen, Middelburg and an Easter market – despite frozen water pipes.
Our autumn holiday 2011 on the IJsselmeer: a closed campsite in Lemmer, then the immaculate "It Soal" campsite in Workum, Friesland – in rather a lot of rain.
